FitSpace Class

The first FitSpace class is in the bag! Sponsored by the Burbank YMCA, this first prototype class was a big success. The class hosted accomplished athletes interested in adding depth to existing training plans or getting more conditioning out of a typical day.
It was interesting to me to find that we did indeed attract very fit people to this initial trial of FitSpace. All of our participants tested in the 90th percentile for their age group relative to individual fitness levels. I fully expected to get more folks who claim to not have 'the time' for exercise or fitness since a large part of what we're doing is working a training plan into the daily fold of everyday life.
Here's a description of the class:

FitSpace is a new concept in fitness! We’re thinking outside of the box to keep you active and fit. We will start with your goals and an overall physical assessment to design a custom plan for you to improve strength, flexibility and range of motion. Utilizing your available time and resources we will find creative ways to integrate your plan into your daily routine. We use FitSpace strategies including circuits and triggers to integrate a challenging plan into your home, office and in between. FitSpace concepts are proven to improve your fitness and make you active.

The class will meet three times and will include:

· Fitspace eBook

· Design of plan

· Understanding of goals of plan established from testing, questionnaire, and athlete goals

· Establishing the means; review of spatial resources, time availability, equipment requirements

· Circuits + Triggers: Creating and utilizing circuits and triggers to execute plan

· Review of Case Studies; how this works

· Developing our external network beyond the gym; context à campus and connecting to others
